NFT Basics

Non-fungible token (NFT), the non-fungible part means each token could be worth different values. A counter example is a quarter ($0.25 US dollar or twenty five cents), a quarter is a token / a coin that is recognize in the united states to be always worth 25 cents. In other words, each NFT token is unique. Fungible tokens are not unique.

The technical name for NFT defined on the most popular the Ethereum blockchain. is ERC-721 Token.

Some of the best, most valuable NFTs are on the Ethereum chain making ETH very valuable. ETH is required to buy.

NFTs can be 3D art, 2D art, in game monsters/tokens/goods and other forms of digital collectibles.

Summary statistics about blockchain, crypto: how large is the crypto (market capitalization, circulating supply versus total supply). Which coins are correlated. There's a lot to be done when it comes to data science of crypto, blockchain and NFT.

Blockchain / crypto is an innovative tech (though it is almost one decade old). Its initial intentions are good, but the reality is, despite the different flavors of chain and crypto implementation, consensus protocols, the cryptocurrencies are still highly correlated. Coinbase app used to display correlation among the coins, and some would have as high as 80%+. We don't see that feature any more. Not financial advice: correlation in financial portfolios is considered not so good, diversification is considered a good trait of portfolios. Though the school of thoughts differ drastically depends on who you talk to.

There's also the camp stablecoin vs altcoin. For example, dogecoin and shib coin are considered altcoins. Stablecoin sometimes refer to Bitcoin and Ethereum, but it actually refers to coins like USDC.

Web3 is the version of the internet that comes next. Some think Web3 is about Blockchain. The current version of internet is Web2. It is filled with lots of data and web.
